Trilogy Agency - VIBE Home Makeover Major Upgrade Improvements

Windows, solar, air conditioning and heating, flooring, kitchen cabinets, countertops, bathroom upgrades, closets and storage, major appliances, electronics and computers, furniture, mattresses and bedding. All these home improvements fall into the “Major Upgrades’ category of the inaugural VIBE Home Makeover in Tampa Bay, Florida.

In VIBE’s first year, five families will receive home makeovers or renovations at no charge to the recipient families-in-need.

Four recipients receive the Select Edition, with six or more major improvements and a selection of finishing touches.

One recipient receives the Flagship Edition renovation, an extensive interior and exterior transformation with 18 or more major upgrades and an array of home décor finishing touches. 

The improvements that we include are based on multiple factors: the recipient’s home site and age of home, existing floor plan and recent improvements, family circumstances and financial challenges, the household’s needs, and availability of products from our VIBE partners. There is a wide selection of improvement options that may be available for the recipient families.

Today, we will detail our ‘Major Upgrades’ category, 12 substantial home improvements, where each, by themselves, would make a major difference in the lives of our recipient families. Multiple upgrades in this sector could be life-changing.

WINDOWS. Multiple or all the home’s windows and doors would make a huge difference, not only in energy-savings, but in the family’s safety and comfort. In Florida, often windows age faster than the rest of the home and replacement of windows could save hundreds or thousands on the family’s energy bills annually.

SOLAR. Depending on the situation, solar technology can dramatically reduce, or in some cases, eliminate, the recipient family’s power bills. There are numerous ways solar can play an active role in energy savings, and our partners will explore all of them to determine if solar is feasible for the home.

HVAC. We complete the energy hat trick with the heating and air conditioning sector. Outdated and inefficient HVAC systems can singlehandedly cost a family-in-need hundreds or thousands per year in heating and cooling costs. Whether it’s a new high efficiency HVAC system, or a series of repairs, this is a hot category. Pun intended.

FLOORING. So many options. So many ideas. New flooring can make a world of difference in a family’s home. Whether we consider luxury plank tile, engineered hardwood, custom tile, or other options, a new floor, by itself, can bring a vibrancy to the home.

KITCHEN CABINETS. The kitchen almost always acts as the hub of the home. And kitchen cabinets play a major role in that. Depending on circumstances, we’ll consider brand new cabinetry, refaced cabinet doors, or even custom painting of cabinets that are still structurally sound. We’ll even consider adding cabinetry to provide the family-in-need additional space.

COUNTERTOPS. New ideas for kitchen countertops provide a wealth of options for our VIBE families. A change of style, surface, and color may be just what is necessary to give that kitchen a facelift and modernize the family hub.

BATHROOM UPGRADES. Improvements in the family’s bathrooms can provide much-needed upgrades in these high-use areas. Could be retiling the shower, a change of fixtures, updated cabinetry, or  enhanced lighting.

CLOSETS + STORAGE. Always a challenging area for families, especially those with multiple children. Never enough. Usually disorganized. Always chaotic. Professional organizers and designers help to add space to the family’s closet and storage dilemma.

MAJOR APPLIANCES. Often, refrigerators, stoves, microwaves, dishwashers, washers, and dryers become problematic earlier than expected. Replacing these with more modernized versions often allow the family to lead a healthier, safer, and more efficient life.

ELECTRONICS + COMPUTERS. In today’s digital world, families revolve around technology. Whether its kids homework, adults responsibilities, or family’s entertainment, electronics and computers can help or hinder today’s lifestyle.

FURNITURE. New furniture is always one of those obvious categories. Whether it’s a living room suite where the family can connect, or a bedroom set where the adults can relax, we’ll consider multiple pieces of new furniture to provide living spaces that allow them to do just that.

MATTRESSES + BEDDING. Sleep. One of the most important parts of a healthy life. Comfortable mattresses are key for healthy sleep and much-needed relaxation. We expect all the bedroom mattresses to be replaced to accomplished just that. And then,  we’ll add a splash of design with new bedding and comforters to complete the all-important bedroom upgrade.

Our VIBE Flagship Renovation Series is expected to deliver 18 major improvements (+ Finishing Touches). Our VIBE Select Makeover Series is projected to provide six major improvements (+ Finishing Touches). We expect these Major Upgrades will play a vital role in helping a few families in the Tampa Bay area.

The VIBE Home Makeover improvements are expected to be valued at $300,000 in community impact in our inaugural year.
